In short: Caged MMA gloves are available in two ranges: the Shadow line from €44.95 for beginners and club training, and the X Series from €89.95 for intensive sparring and advanced training. Both ranges are available in sizes S/M and L/XL, with over half of customers choosing S/M.
Which Caged MMA gloves for which training
Caged offers two product lines for different training intensities. The Shadow gloves are the entry-level range with sufficient padding for technical training and light sparring. They are suitable for beginners taking their first steps in MMA and for recreational athletes who train two to three times per week. The X Series is aimed at advanced athletes and regular sparring partners: the padding is denser and the fit is tighter, which is important for intensive training sessions and hard contact. For competition preparation and ambitious training, the X Series is the better choice.
Sizes and fit
Caged MMA gloves are available in two sizes: S/M for hand circumferences up to around 22 cm and L/XL for larger hands. The size choice depends not only on hand circumference, but also on how tight you want to wear the gloves. MMA gloves generally fit tighter than boxing gloves, so that the fingers remain mobile for gripping and grappling. Around 56 per cent of customers choose S/M, 44 per cent L/XL. If you're between two sizes, choose the smaller one for more control when gripping or the larger one for slightly more padding and comfort during long sparring rounds.
What our customers choose
The best-selling models are the Caged MMA Gloves Shadow in Black/Black, followed by the Caged MMA Sparring Gloves Shadow in White/White and the Caged MMA Gloves X Series in Black/Black. For sizes, over half of customers choose S/M, just under half L/XL.

Frequently asked questions
Which Caged MMA gloves are the best choice?
For beginners and recreational athletes, the Caged MMA Sparring Gloves Shadow from €49.95 are the best choice: they offer sufficient protection for technical training and light sparring at a fair price. Advanced athletes and anyone who regularly spars hard should go for the X Series from €89.95. This line is more densely padded, more tightly cut and stands up better to intensive training sessions.
Which size for Caged MMA gloves?
Measure your hand circumference at the widest point without the thumb. Up to around 22 cm fits S/M, above that L/XL. MMA gloves fit tighter than sparring boxing gloves, so you can grip and clinch. If you're between two sizes, take S/M for more grip feel or L/XL for slightly more padding. Over half of customers choose S/M, which shows that many athletes prefer a tighter fit.
What is the difference between Shadow and X Series?
The Shadow line is Caged's entry-level range with solid padding for technical training and light sparring, from €49.95. The X Series is the premium line for advanced athletes: more densely padded, more tightly cut and designed for intensive sparring, from €89.95. Both ranges are available in S/M and L/XL. If you train two to three times per week and don't regularly spar hard yet, the Shadow line is sufficient. For frequent sparring and competition preparation, the X Series is worth it.
